As the BBC's Science Editor, David Shukman is acclaimed for his innovative reporting from the frontlines of global change. His coverage has won him several awards. David became the first journalist to make a live television broadcast from Britain’s Antarctic base. Previous BBC jobs have included Defence Correspondent and Europe Correspondent, based in Brussels, roles that involved covering the fall of the Berlin Wall and conflicts in Bosnia and Africa. A regular public speaker and conference chair, he is the author of The Sorcerer’s Challenge: Fears and Hopes for the Weapons of the Next Millennium (Coronet, 1996)
